Step-by-step guide to automating product descriptions from product images

Before we dive in, ensure you’ve joined Hexomatic to follow along with this tutorial.

Step 1: Access your Hexomatic dashboard

Begin by logging into your Hexomatic account. Once there, navigate to the dashboard. Here, you’ll find the starting point for creating new workflows. Select “Data automation” to proceed.

Step 2: Upload your product images

Start a new blank workflow and choose Data input as your starting point. Within the “Data input” section of your workflow, you’ll find the “Upload file” option. Use this feature to upload the images of the products you wish to create descriptions for. 

For this tutorial, we’ve selected a diverse range of products to illustrate how you can craft product descriptions across various industries all at once.

Step 3: Add ChatGPT-4 Vision Automation

After uploading your images, it’s time to add the ChatGPT-4 Vision automation to your workflow. Simply click on the Plus “+” icon and search for the automation. You can also find and add the ChatGPT-4 Vision automation from the menu on the right.

Specify the data input as your source. 

Step 4: Add your prompt

You’ll need to craft a prompt that accurately describes what you’re looking for in your product descriptions. If you’re struggling with prompt writing, Hexomatic provides suggested prompts to streamline the process.

Step 5: Run Your Workflow

With your prompts set, click the “Run” button to initiate the workflow. ChatGPT-4 Vision will now process your images, applying its advanced AI to generate unique, engaging descriptions for each product.

Your new product descriptions will be available in either CSV or Google Sheet format.
